FORECAST AND SUMMARY. Present indications are for cold and stormy weather, heavy rain generally, and snow on higher levels in the south. The rivers will probably be flooded on tho eastern coast of both islands. Southerly winds, strong to gale, will probably prevail, and a rising barometer everywhere shortly. A southerly storm has developed with a falling barometer in the north and a rise in the south. Heavy ram has fallen in parts, and much snow in the South Island.
