HARRIERS.

On Saturday afternoon the Brooklyn Harriers, held their annual steeplechase over a courso of 21 miles at the Ilut't. Out of an entry of 18, 1C competitors faced the starter. Tlio two limit men (C. By mo nnd W. Wilson, 125 sec.) set a hot pace right from the start, and maintained their lead uni'il three-"quai\ l ers of a railo from home, when A. Cook (olsee.) a promising runner, took up t lie lead, and ran home the winner in tho good time- of ISinin. 29sec. He was closely followed by A. Oliver (lOoscc), and F. Hod-f-ciii (25sec). The next to finish were G. Bristow (70=cc), F. Byrne (scr.), and V. Byrne (lOsec). The remainder of the field finished well up. After tho respective times had been adjusted, it was found that I'. Byrne had covered vhe distance in lftmin. Usec, with ]'". Hodson, second (lSmin. 21sec), and V. Byrne, third (13 min. 21 2-sspc.) thus securing points (3. 2, and 1 respectively) for the all-round irophy presented to the club by Mr. L. Morris. The. club's thanks are due to Mr. L. The Wellington Harriers changed their usual procedure on Saturday last at Miramnr by having a run through, which was much enjoyed by all present, being good training for the coming races.
