GREYTOWN. The hockey match played last week on the reserve Iwtwefln the Coronal ion Baths Committee and the girls' hockey team was attended by a very largo crowd of onlookers indeed. The attendance at tho public school is now approaching the normal average. There were 120 children presant on Friday, the average for the previous week being only 40. With the Government subsidy of J275, there is .£2OB 4s.- 10d. in hand for tho swimming baths. Tho proceeds from tho skating carnival, to lie held on July 28, should amount to about «£2O, and it is understood that the Town Board will grant j!!25. The baths are estimated to cost about .£3OO. King, tho treasurer, ha.nded over to them a cheque for ,ClO, being the net proceeds of tho society's recent production, "The Arabian Nights." Messrs. Slephenson, Moynihan, and Lind thanked the members of the company for the donation. Songs were given by Miss Lauryig and Mrs. Norman i recitations' by Miss Mont«\th and Mr. Bovis. Tho music for the danco that followed (at which Messrs. Batchelar and King officiated as M.C.'s) was ; layed by Miss Laurvig, Messrs. Tolo, Hall, and" Bovis. The death occurred nt his residence, Awahuri, on Friday morning, of Mr. John Eeid at tho oge of 67 years.
