In the Coal Vend case Mr. Mitchell, for the shipping companies, submitted that if a contract was considered a reasonable one, it was not for tho Court to inquire whether tho result was to raise', tho price of coal. Regarding the words "detriment to the public," ho contended that there must be something real and substantial before there could be offence under the Act.
