CONCLUSION OF THE INQUEST. Tho inquest touching tho deatli of tha lato Gco. Hopple,..who,with,-his two sons had been missing sinco Coronation Day, when they went on a fishing expedition in tho harbour, was concluded yesterday at Potono before- tho City Coroner (Dr. A. M'Arthrjy" S3i;). Sergeant Kelly represented the police. The evidence of Walter Wolland, gardener, at Lowry Bay, was to tho effect that, he saw deceased with his two eons on Juno 22 (Coronation Day). They wero in a flat-bottomed boat, and pulled in opposite Mr. 11. D. Bell's gate, about 3 p.m. They got out of tho boat and took a meal on tho shore. He did not speak to them. They left the bay at a quarter past. four. They took a tack straight across to tho wharf at Somes Island.* A fairly strong north-west wind was blowing, and the boat was not fit to venture out in such weather. The sail was improperly reefed for tho class of boat. Tho last witness saw of tho party was when they weru under Somes Island. A verdict of death by accidental drowning was returned.
