CLYDESDALE STUD BOOK.

CANTERBURY OBJECTIONS. In view of tho movement in favour of the formation of a Clydesdale Horse Society for New.Zealand, the following report of the Horse Committor- of tho Canterbury A. and P. Association is of interest :— The committee considered that tho time ' had not yet .arrived for the formation of different breed societies in New Zealand. ' The association, already published the Draught Horse Stud Book of New Zealand, which was started in .1889, and this 'included sections for draught horses, Shire horses and Suffolk Punch. In future volumes tho committee suggested that tho Stud Book should be divided into the following sections:—Clydesdales, Shire, Suffolk Punch, pedigree draught horses not eligible for above sections. In reply* to a letter from Mr. W. -T. Jenkins, suggesting that two sections should be introduced for draught horses the Canterbury Show, the committee considered that whereas a few year; ngo ; such a change would have been desirable, there was now very little difference between the. two types of draught horses, and not sufficient to warrant the setting tip of two sections.
