PRIZES FOR BAND CONTEST.
THE LIST ANNOUNCED. (By TelceraDU—Press Association.) Gisborne, July IS. In connection with the next contest under the auspices of the North Island Brass Bands Association (to bo hold in Gisborne) the local committee have adopted tho_ recommendation of tho Finance Committee that tho prize money to bo given at Hie contest should total itfls, and should bo allocated as follows:— Test selection A grade—First, prize, .£100; second prize, ,£SO; third prize, ,£25. Test selection B grade—First prize, .£GO; second prize, £30; third prize, ,£lO. Quick-step, A grade—First prize, ,£SO; second prize, £25.
Quick-step, B grade—First prize, .£45; second prize, £20.
In addition, to the above, many gold and silver medals : have-also been promised.
