FOR THIS SESSION. Anions; (he legislation to be dealt with this (session will he two Bills of outstanding importance. ]t is hoped by. (ha Government that the .Mental Defectives bill, anil a measure to place the patents law of the Dominion ui a satisfactory fooling will both become law this session. The former Bill iras introduced last session, but was not seriously procceded with by the Government, but this year, it is understood, further purlieu-* lars regarding the modern methods of treating the mentally deficient have been collected, and embodied in this year's Bill. In regard to the other measure, it is desired by ihe Government to bring tho intents law of the Dominion into Mini! with that of England and other parts of Ihe Empire. Both arc comprehensive measures, and are expected to take up a good deal of the time of the House. The Minister for Health will also introduce a Bill on town-planning. ]t is rumoured now that tho Public Service classification scheme, over which u great deal of limo has been spent by the conimitleo appointed, will not be proceeded with.
