Messrs. Dalgety and Company, Limited, report:—Wo held our usual fortnightly sale of wool, skins, hides, and tallow yesterday. Thero was a large attendance of buyers, and competition was keen. Wool was easier in sympathy with London market, but bright clean crutchings were keenly competed for at late rates. Levin and Company, Limited, report:—We held our'fortnightly sale yesterday, when \vc' offered 50 bales of wool, 2500 sheepskins, 450 hides and calfskins, and a quantity of tallow and horsehair. Wool: Notwithstanding the fall in London, crutchings fairly held their own, showing occasionally a farthing fall. Vi'o quote:— Good crutchings, 53d.- to 6Jd.; medium crutchings, sd. to 5Jd.; seedy and inferior crutchings, J'd. to 5d.; medium crossbred, 7d. to Bd.: inferior crossbred, 6Jd; to 7d.; pieres and bellies, sd. to 5Jd.; looks. 3*d. to 4>d. Skins—No change. Messrs. Murray. Roberts and Co., Ltd., report:—We offered to-day 98 bales of wool, 3060 sheep skins, 130 hides, to an average attendance of buyers. The wool consisted mainly of crutchings, aud many of the lots were seedy and locky, only a small' proportion being of medium to good quality and condition. Sheep skins are now coming in with bclk-r lengths of wool generally, and fewer short wools arc apparent. Notwithstanding the easier tone of the current London sales, prices ruled very firm, at about last sale's rates, and the tone of tho bidding showed confidence right through the sale, ilides sold, if anything, at higher figures. Wool; Crossbred, rough. coarse, 6id. to 7j'd. per lb.; pi-eces and bellies, 22d. to sid.; crutchings, good light, fid. to 6Jd.; crutchings, medium and short, 5Jd. to 52(1.; crutchings, seedy and heavy, 4d. to. sd. Tho New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., t Ltd., report as follows:—In sympathy with the drop in priccs in cur-rent-London sales, wool was lower by Jd. per lb., than prices recorded at. our last local salc3. Sheepskins were not 1 so much affected, and sold well up to last sale's rates. Hides and tallow were in good demand, and firm at low rates.
