MEDICAL EXAMINATION.
CADETS AND TERRITORIALS. j (By Telegraph—Press Association.! ' _ Duncdin, July M. Under the system worked out by Lieu-tenant-Colonol Will, tho medical inspection 'of local Territorials is proceeding apace. Every evening (Sunday excepted) sin.co July 7 tho Garrison Jlall has presented a busy scene, scores of young jnbli being gathered in orderly array for the lest, which is conducted by a staff of. 18, including seven medical men. The work is so judiciously divided. under Colonel Will's scheine-that "patients can lie put through at the rate of two a minute." So smoothly and quickly does the system work that a careful examiuation of 1700 youths had been accomplished up to Wednesday evening. Cadets are not rejected unless very palpably unfit, for the reason that physical, training will prove beneficial to them, ' but for Territorials tho lest is more exacting, for tho reason that they must bo fit for service, and the training of the unfit would mean needless expense. Out of 1700 examined about 100 have been rejected, but of these, some, by reason of temporary deficiencies—a broken arm for example—have been merely exempted for one year. Tho tests so far have disclosed a largo proportion of deplorably bad teeth.
