A STATUE ' FOR WELLINGTON.
PROPOSED WAKEFIELD MEMORIAL. Bj Telceraph—Press Association— Copyright (Rec. July 14, 10.15 p.m.) London, July 14. Sir Frederick Young, vice-president of the Colonial Institute, has organised a committee, among the members of which are Lord Onslow, Lord Glasgow, Lord Ranfurly, cx-Govornors of Now Zealand, to crect a statue of Edward Gibbon Wakefield, founder of tho New Zealand Company, at Wellington. Sir Joseph Ward has expressed his sympathy, and Sir Frederick Young hopes that the New Zealand Government will co-operate.
