Mi'",, and Miss Sandilands havo returned from a trip to Australia. Mr. and Mrs. .Jiorrocks have gone - to Isev 'Plymouth for a holiday. Mrs. Charteris, Auckland, is tho guest of Mrs. X. Gorton. ( Mrs. L. Gorton has gone to Wellington. Mr. and Mrs. Short are spending a few days in Wellington. Mr. and Mrs. Vatighan and Miss Gillespie, who liavo been slaying with Mrs. Gillespie, left for the south on Wednesday. Mrs. I\ H. Harrison (Wanganui) has been staying with friends in I'dilding.' Miss Florence (Blenheim) is the guest of Mrs. Peat. Mrs. Peat has gone to Wellington to see her daughter (Mrs. A. 11. Colville) off by the Athcnic. After the wedding of her daughter to the Hcv. Mr. A. 11. Colville, on Tuesday, Mrs. Harcourt Peat held a reception in the Parish Hall. Tea Was served from' dainty littlo■ tables set' about tho hall, and delicious refreshments were handed round. Mr. l'irani proposed (be health of the bride and bridegroom, which was enthusiastically responded to by the guests. Among those present' were': Mrs. Alderton (Wellington), Mrs. Harrison (Wanganui), Mrs. .lones (Wanganui), Miss Florence (Blenheim), Mrs; Charteris (Auckland), Mr. and Mrs. Alymer, Mr. and Mrs. L. Gorton, Mr. and Sirs. T!. Harding, Mr. and Mrs. Grahum Jackson, Mesdnmes N. Gorton, Gieseu, Miller, Barton, Miles, Hill, Mountforl. Walker, Hoult, Monlgomery. Seymour, Sandilands, Pickering, Beattie, lievington, Jones, Innis--1 ones, Adkins, JUisses Kay, Cameron (Wangaehu), Prior, Mountfoit, Bruce, Miller, Florence (Blenheim). Dewrs (Auckland), and many others. The bride and bridegroom left during the afternoon for Palmerston in a closed-in motor-car, and on Thursday sailed for England.
