THE WEATHER.
FORECAST AND SUMMARY. Present indications aro for unsettled weather, and tho development of a southerly storm, which may prove- of considerable intensity; The chaneo may not take- place, for about 36 hours, but conditions are now somewhat ominous. Moderate'to'strong westerly winds and changeable weather, with a fall in the barometer, will probably precede a rapid rise, and rain in moot parU of the country, with snow on hiirher levels. There has been little movement of the barometer, but. except in tho northern and southernmost districts, the weather has been fair and tho winds moderate, chiefly from the westward. Rain has fallen in the southern districts, and the leather very squally in Foveaux Strait. AT 4 P.M. YESTERDAY. Cane Maria van Dicmen.-S.E., light; barometer, 29.74: thermometer, 55.
