MASTERTON COMPETITIONS.
THE RESULTS TO DATE. (By 'Mcert'Dh.-SDecial Correspondents Masterton, July 11. The initial competitions under the aus< pices of the Masterton Musical and Elocutionary Competitions Society were opened to-day. There was n large attendance of tho public both in the afternoon and evening, and great interest was manifested in' the different events. _ Dr. bradshaw. of Christehurch, judged in tho musical events, and Mr. C. N. Bneycrtz, of Wellington, in the elocutionary events.
