Mr. Hopkins and Miss namer met with a terrible accident near Carnarvon recently. They v/ero overtaken by a heavy storm while walking in nu unfrequented lane and sought shelter in a dismantled mill! They dislodged a large stone, which in' its fall threw them down and pinned them to Mm ground. . They were unable (o move until some passing workmen rescued them, nflei , thirteen hours' imprisonment. One of Mr. Hopkins's legs was broken, and Miss Hnmer was bruised severely. David Edwards, of Pontloltyn. was killed at Rhymney fair on May 21. He was in a svingboat with a friend, and losing his hold when he was at a considerable height, he was flung into a disused colliery shaft. One of the attendants was lowered into the pit, which is about 108 feet deep, and brought the body to th? surface. Edwards was eighteen years old.
