THE CO-OPERATIVE ASSURANCE CO., LTD.

SYDNEY ISSUE OVER-SUBSCRIBED. Messrs. W. H. Turnbull and Co., who, in conjunction with Messrs. Irwin and George, arc the New Zealand brokers for the Co-operative Assurance Company, Ltd., received yesterday evening a cablegram from Sydney slating that the 100,000 shares offered for subscription in Sydney have been over-subscribed. Considering that the share-list was only opened in Sydney yesterday morning, its rapid over-subscription is claimed to show that the company is considered a sound investment, and it is also anticipated that' its shares will soon be at a premium. Messrs. Turnbull and Co. advise us that a largo number of shares have been applied for here, and I hey expect that the total number .reserved ' for New Zealand will ho taken up before the advertised dale of closing the list, viz., July 31.
