COURSING.

■ ♦ METROPOLITAN CLUB MEETING. The Wellington Metropolitan Coursing Club held a most successful meeting on Saturday at, the club's course, Wallaceville. There was a. good attendance of the public, and some good trials were witnessed. The lares proved to be (ho fleetest that have ever been seen in the North Island. Mr. J. Cress came in for warm praise for the manner in .which he had the hares trained. Out of a total of about 30 courses, there were only three kills. A member of the club, Mr; A. J. Parsons, officiated as judge for tho first time, and was warmly praised for the excellence of bis decisions. The club intends making Mr. Parsons its permanent judge. Mr. P. H. O.'Donoghue performed his duties as slipper in a workmanlike manner, and Mr. James J. ■O'Dbnoglnie, tho club's secretary, was congratulated on the successful way in which he managed the meeting. . , . A great trial was witnessed in. the final ,of tho Cup. Mr. John Brosnan's fine brindle dog Kiltilera, a son of the Australian dog Tolstoi, and Gertie, bred by the club's secretary, defeating ' Wi'remu Neeri's crack dog Headlight. Raffles, a clever hound, defeated a fast dog in ■Rufus Dawes in the final of the Coronation Stakes. A somewhat slow but rather clever little greyhound in Kynoch's Girl had a- very lucky win in the final of the Supplementary Stakes. Her opponent, a fast and very promising young do", ran unsighted for a considerable' portion of tho course. Other performers that ran well were Captain Starlight, Wellington Lo.nsdnlc, Despatch, and The Leader Messrs. Alt Huchings and J.
