« CONGRATULATIONS FOR AUSTRALiA. By Telegraph— Press Association—Oopyrieht (Eec. July 9, 5.5,. p.m.) London, July 8. Lord Roberts has telegraphed to Mr. Fisher, Prime Minister of Australia:— "I, together with the whole National Servico League, send the warmest congratulations on the commencement of the training of tho youth of Australia under compulsory service and wish your great Commonwealth all success." Mr.. Fisher replied: "All Australians will be pleased to read your telegram." THE, CADETS IN LONDON.. . London, July 7. The Australian cadets now in England were the gnests of Colonel Bingham at Sheffield, end . visited several important factories. Tho Lord Mayor, who entertained them, said Australia had set an example in preparing youths to defend their homes. Mr. M'Gowen, New South Wales Pre-mier-said he was pleased to hear tributes to tho boys' good behaviour.
