Sir Edward Grey, .Secretary for State or Foreign Affairs, has announced that he unlimited arbitration treaty with, the United States will shortly bo signed. THE PECUNIARY CLAIMS. (Rec. July 8, 0.15 a.m.) Washinflton, July 7. Mr. James Bryce, tho British Ambassador at Washington, and Mr. Knox, the United States Secretary of State, havo signed the first schedulo of certain AngloAmerican pecuniary claims with tho terms of their submission to arbitration in accordance with tho terms of tho agreement signed last August. A conference was subsequently held to consider tho details of the proposed arbitration treaty, which will bo completed in timo for'tlio present session of Congress to ratify it. The agreement relates to claims dating back to before 1812 and to general claims which have arisen since 1853, those which had arisen between 1812 and 1853 having been settled by a Commission convened in tho latter year and those- connected with tho Civil War having been cleared off in the seventies. By the present agreement Great Britain and (ho United States are to refer to arbitration tho claims which tho two countries decide to include in tho schedules. Each party will appoint an .arbitrator and the two arbitrators will choose an umpire. Tho Arbitral Court will meet at Washington.
