» EXPORT DUTY SOUGHT. By Teleerarh—Press Association—CoDfileM Sydney, July 7. A deputation representing the smelting industry asked tho Government for concessions on tho carriago of ores, and also for the imposition of an export duty. It was staled that Germany had captured the trade, and practically all highgrade ores ivero sent to that country for treatment. Mr. Carmichnel, Acting-Chief Secretary, promised sympathetic consideration to the deputation's tcquest.
