ATHLETIC SPORTS.
RUQBY FOOTBALL. WHERE.TO GO THIS AFTERNOON. GAMES OF PROMISE. There should be good football to-day. The air retains the nip of winter, but grounds arc drier and cleaner than they were last week, and will favour faster play. At the Park, Ponelco will do what they can with Athletic, and it way be ventured that they will not hold them as tight as they held Oriental last week. What tho result of this game will be is a remarkably open question, but it is bound to move a good deal faster than a funeral. The other ground at the Park will bo occupied by Petone and Southern. The star of the suburbanites has waned a little of Late, but they are still a big force to be reckoned with. Southern, a mettlesome and rising team, should do their share in providing the elements of a fighting tussle. At Petone, St. James will play Wellington. NEW ZEALAND LEAGUE TOUR.
