The attractions are great. First of all thero aro the glories of tho Rhine—sights and legends mado famous in prose and rlivme. Next, there, is'the association with" St. Boniface, tho Apostle of Germany. Under St. Boniface tho See was raised to an Archbishopric and made the scat of the Trimate of Germany. JIo was proud of the fact that he was the son of au English wheelwright, and assumed ,as his armorial bearings a pair of wheels, which are still retained in (ho arms of the quaint old city. Thirdly, a special feature of tho congress will be tlio Celebration of the. centenary of the great prelate, Bishop von Kctteler. For twentyseven years, he was at the head of the diocese of Mainz, and during that timo he cxponndbd-.10 tho whole of Germany with wonderful success the principles of Catholic social action. Ever since tho importance of the questions with which . he dealt and the views he took have been growing, and it will be no small benefit to the Church and tho people cf Furopc if the celebration of his centenary lead to a closer study of his life and his' social policy.'''
