ANGLICAN SYNOD.

YESTERDAY'S PROCEEDINGS. The session of the Anglican Diocesan Synod was continued yesterday in the Sydney Street Schoolroom, the Bishop of Wellington (the Right. Rev. T. H. Sprott) presiding. EASTEOURNE BOUNDARIES. The committee which was instructed (o define tho boundaries for the proposed new Eastbourne parish brought down its report, which will be considered to-day. The proposal is to separate Eastbourne from the Lower Unit, and tho matter is only hung up pending the definition of the boundaries of tho Eastbourne parish. THE CHURCH "CHRONICLE." It was decided, on tho motion of the Kov. A. S. Inues-Jones, that tho Synod request the Church Chronicle Committee to make arrangements wherebv parishes and parochial .districts can, fo'r an adeQnate payment, obtain a page in tho "Chronicle" for parochial use. REPKESENTATION ON THE VESTRY. Captain J. D. E. Hewitt (Palmerston North) introduced a Bill to give parochial districts with a, population of 3000 and over a representation of ten members on the Vestry, instead of only seven as at present. On his motion the Bill was read the first time, and set down for second reading to-day. POSITION OF ORGANISTS. Another Bill was introduced by Dr. W. Kington Fyffe (St. Peter's), to define the position of organists in the churches. The first reading was agreed to, and the Bill set down for second reading to-day. BURIALS AND CHURCHINGS. As a result of tho decision ol the Synod on Wednesday to eliminate the charges for burials and churchings, the Rev. E. W. J. Sl'Connell moved: "That the following words bo added to resolution No. 2: 'Churchwardens shall bo diiected to place at church doors a notice inviting all who make use of the services of the . church for burials and churchings to contribute voluntary offerings to the pension fund.'" The motion was seconded by Rev. R. H. Hobday. Archdeacon Harper urged that by adopting the motion they would be practically going back to the old order of things. After some discussion the motion was lost 011 the voices. DIOCESAN ALMANAC COMMITTEE. On behalf of the Rov. G. B. Stophcnson, the Rev. E. W. J. M'Connell moved: "That a committee be appointed to carry on the work of publishing tho Diocesan Almanac, the committee to consist of the Rev. C. G. Mutter, Rev. H. F. Wilsou, Rev. J. G. S. Bartlett, Mr. 31. C. Smith, and the mover. The motion was carried without opposition." The Synod irill resume this afternoon,
