THE DISTILLERY FIRE.
MADDENED CATTLE AND BURNING WHISKY. By Tolecraph—Press Association—Ojpyrieht London, July 4. Particulars of the great fire at Dalmore distillery, in Ross-shire, show that at the cry of fire half-naked men rushed to lib-crate-the famous polled herd of cattle. Women huddled in groups in the Market Square to evade the rush of the maddened animals. Hundreds of casks of twenty-year-old whisky burst, and fed tho flames, which flowed into Cromarty Firth. Sand thrown on the burning stream was futile. The burning spirit lit the Firth like a searchlight, and was visible at Dingwall, nine miles away.
