Two thousand seven hundred letters ivere discovered in Lucid's lodgings, showing that he had been corresponding 'with forty-two women simultaneously. He obtained ,£ISOO from one woman. Judge Rentoul, in sentencing the prisoner, said ho hoped the Suffragettes would be able to change tho law so as to make the offence of bigamy punishablo with flogging.
