"THE ARCADIANS,"
A new bookjn? record for the Opera House was established at the Dresden yesterday, when the box plan for Clarke and Meynell's "The Arcadians" Company was opened. As was anticipated, the public formed a queue lons before the advertised time of opening, and to cope with .any disruption in the ranks numbered coupons had been distributed, which entitled the holder to a corresponding preference in the choice of seats. Consequently, everything' pawed oft' as merrily as the proverbial marriagq bell, and when the plan closed last evening considerably over 1400 had tefli' Vr..—v = 7l off for the first six nights. "The Arcadians," which is described as a fantastical musical play in three acts, has mau.v virtues to recommend it. Tlie companv which Ciarko and Meynell have secured to present it at the Opera House next Thursday night is said to be representative of tho finest coinic opera organisations in London, and several of the members are notable English star artists. Tho famous Continental danseuse, Marguerito Le Hoy, in conjunction with .Duttoii Nieholls, an English dancer of some not* will execute the celebrated pas de' deux dance in tho third act. and bevies of show_ girls will adorn themselves in the classic drapes of Arcady, and the latest creations of the world's costumiers. The curtain will rise at 7.45 p.m. sharp, when patrons are respectfully requested 1 to be in their seats.
