HARRIERS.
.The rendezvous of the Brooklyn Har™rs last Saturday afternoon'was Mr. F. Shortt s residence, I'ona Bav, twentv-one members taking part in tha run. ' The hares, J. Don and F. Kodson, made the most of tho five minutes' start given by the pack. The course was from Mr. Shortt salons the road, and down on the sandy beach, then up a steep hill overlooking Gollan's Valley. Then a descent was .mado down the other side into tho valley, and .here the foot of the hill ■was followed for abnut a mile or <o. Then the trail led up the hill and down the other side on to the beach near the lighthouse, and then back to the starting point'via the beach. A run in was held over tho last 300 yards, which resulted in a win for A'. Byrne, with M. Pointon and E. A. Shaw finishing second and third respectively. _ After the run the members were entertained at afternoon tea by Mr. Shortt. the members afterwards giving three hearty cheers for their hosts. The AA'ellington Harriers turned out eighteen strong on Saturday for their run from Seatoun. The trail-layers, T. Johnson and AA 7 . Smith, started from the Terminus Tea Booms, and led off round the beach to the ICaraka Bay wharf, thence over the hill to Mirairar flat, and down to the golf links. From here the pack were started off 011 a cross-country Tun home through bc*?s. etc. C. Rowberry came in first. P. AA'ilton second, an<] F. Rollo third. H. Lamb acted as pacemaker for the day. Lower Hutt is the meeting place for next Saturday.
