Croft, Unionist M.P. for Christchurch, presiding, approval was expressed of the Mission's policy of promoting Imperialist ideas in tho Empire, and emphasising tho benefits of solidarity in commerco and defencc, theimportanco of increasing the products of food withiu tho Empire, and tho desirability of directing tho current of emigration towards tho Overseas Dominions. Sir John Quick, of Victoria, emphasised (be fact that there was a combination of forccs, independent of kinship and sentiment, assisting to keep the Empire together. Tho peoples of tho Empire should know that, in harmony with their mutual-interests and well-being, thero should bo continuity of Empire. Ho believed in preferential trade within tho Empire.
