ST. JOHN DISTRICT GUILD.
The monthly meeting of the District Nursing Guild of St. John was held yesterday afternoon, Mrs. S. D. Tripe presiding. The report stated that during June Nurses Sexton and Macandrew had been kept busy, paying no fewer than 830 visits .to district patients. Tie report also showed that 34 patients were receiving attention for a variety of ailments, accentuated through the wintry weather. In addition to the ordinary nursing duties,tho nurses had distributed various comforts, clothing, and medicine.
The committee acknowledged with thanks the sum of .£1 lis. from Messrs. Keid and Penwick through Nurse Sexton, and also- desired to thank the following for gifts of old linen, comforts, etc.Mesdames Harper, Simkin, Tripp, Ashcroft, Vare, Randall, Barr, Rowell, Dowlin, Luke, Moorhouse, Corrigan, Preston, Ewen, Oakley-Brown, Shand, Keens, Van 'freight, Lankshear, Wilson, Fulton, Congregational Cburch, Young Women's Club, Gear Company, A Friend, an.l "Maurine." Mr. Ewiug wp.s specially thanked for a quantity of coal for distribution among tho sick poor.
