Lady Wantage, Mr. iGeorgo William Palmer, P.C., of biscuit manufacturing fame, his wife, and Mr. Alfred Palmer havo given .£50,000 each to endow a university at Reading in view of tho application by Reading University College for a, charter as an independent university, Mr. G. Palmer had given a previous sum of ,£50,000 in 1905.
