FACTORY IN DANGER.
« (By Telegraph—Press Asportation/. Dunedin, June 30. An extensive factory, cwned by Messrs. R. Hudson and Co., biscuit and confectionery manufacturers, in Castle. Street, had a narrow escape from destruction by firo this evening. The premises are now being installed with the Gtinne-ll sprinkler, but the installation is not quite complete. Fortunately, however, tho manufacturing section, which comprises j a large building in the centre of the \ company's works, and in which th<; firo I originated, was equipped with the ap-1 paratus. When fire was discovered ! through the operation of the sprinkler, j the flames had a strong hold. The fire apparently started on the ground floor, in or war the lift, and rpiiHily reached the top floor, but the brigade got it under in goo dtiine Its origin is a mystery, them having been no fire in tho vicinitv of the supposed starting place.
