COMPETITIONS SOCIETY.

The secretary of Ihe Wellington Competitions Society (Mr. James Dykes) notifies that inquiries for Ihe syllabus liavo ten received' by intending competitors from all over the Dominion, and it is evident (lie states) that the competitions are going to be a success. Homo additional prizes have been donated since the pester has been published, and these will be found in the ''Hook of Words," which is now in Ihe hands of the printer. A meeliug of ladies interested in the competitions has been called foe next Monday afternoon, in the Mayor's room, at ';] o'clock. The Mayoress will preside. It is hoped that all ladies interested in the movement will attend. Syllabuses can be obtained 011 application lo the secretary.
