Mason before tho latter leaves for Sydney.

The Napier Park Racing Club', which holds its winter meeting to-day and to-morrow, has recently completed extensive alterations in its appointments at a cost of JSIOUO. The improvements include a new jockeys' room, visitors' stand, secretarv's othce, press room, aud cloak room, these additions furnish a decided evidence of the progress of the club.

El Dorado, who will be ridden by R. Thompson in the Napier Steeples to-day. can have lit'tlo prospect of success, as it was only after the Hastings fixture that he camo out of the paddock, having been turned out since the Ellerslie meeting, when ho went wrong.
