CHORAL SOCIETY.
1Tho Wellington Choral Society will resume its rehearsals early in July, when Cowen's "Ruth" will be undertaken. The music arrived from Australia yesterday. ]11 view of the Imperial Musical Festivals inaugurated by Dr. HarriSs, the Choral Society held its first concert, this season at an earlier date than usual, so as to take its full share in extending a warm and hearty welcome to the celebrated Sheffield Choir. Practically all the members of the chorus of the Wellington Choral Society pa«ed the requisite musical tost for inclusion in the local auxiliary choir, which is to join the ShcOicHl Choir in its production of "Elijah." The society has in its library Elgin's "The Dream of C!crontius," which it produced for tho first time in New Zealand at its second concert hst season. The copies have been distributed amongst members of the auxiliary choir, for the purposes of a close study oT the Sheffield Choir's performance of the work to-morrow night. Mr. S. .T.
