MORMONS AND THE SCHOOLS,

Just before tic close of the Education Board's mating yesterday afternoon, Mr. AV. C. Buchanan, M.P., sounded a note of nlarm on the subject of Mormonism, The Mormons, he said, had been very active in the Pirinoa district of late, ana several of the children attending the district State school had been led away, and were now being taught by the Mormons. Tie was afraid that the kind of.instruo. tion now being given was not satisfactory, and he felt that the heard Miould instruct one of its inspectors to _ pay a visit to the Pirinoa school district, ana see for himself what was being done. It was pointed out that care would have to be taken to see that there was no intrusion upon the authority of the Education Department. On that understanding, Mr. Buchanan's suggestion was adopted.
