FIVE THOUSAND MEN AFFECTED. By Telceraph— Press Association-Oonyrieht Sydney, June 26. Representatives of the Queensland sugar strikers are in Sydney organising for assistance.

They state that five thousand field and mill hands aro affected. It is expected that another iivo thousand in tho southern sugar fields will shortly be involved. EMPLOYERS' FIGHTING FUND. (Rec. June 26, 10.25 p.m.) Brisbane, June 2C. At a meeting of sugar farmers in the Maokay District it was resolved to make a levy of threepence a ton on cane, with a view to raising a fnnd to combat tho strikers. The meeting also decided to employ free men in place of tho unionists.
