THE MISSING BOATING PARTY.
HARBOUR SEARCHED IN VAIN. Ouv Petone correspondent states that a diligent search is being maintained by tho police in the hope of discovering somo trace of the fishing party, who have not been heard of since last Thursday. Up till last night, however, nothing further had been reported. Tho blade of an oar and the stem piece of a boat (previously reported as having been picked up on Sunday) belong to anothei boat, and, from what can bo gathered, the coat and lifebelt picked up on Somes Island do not belong to the missing party. , Much sympathy is expressed by Hutt people for Mrs. Hopple, who has seven children all under 12 years of age.
