•At tha meeting of the Wellington Theosophical Society (Mr. J. Godbcr occupying the chair), Mr. J. K. Thomson lectured on' "The Wheel of Births and Deaths."' lie quoted from the Hindu Scriptures the following verse:—"ln the vast God-wheel, the source and support of all lives, the individual is made ■ to wander, thinking himself and God different. United with God he attains immortality;" The. lecturer adduced various lines of evidence for the doctrine di reincarnation, pointing out that without that doctrine it was not possible to justify the ways of God. In favour, of the theory of re-birth,'there was the testimony of thoso who "'knew, divided into three classes, viz.:—(l) Those who have developed the power .to investigate' for themselves; (2) those who have casual memories; (3) those who remember past I lives in-trance.
