THE SHEFFIELD CHOIR.
A meeting of the local Sheffield Choir Committee was hold on Saturday evening in the Chamber of Commerce. Mr. J. G. W. AiOkcn presided and there was a good attendance.
'Iho secretary (Mr. W. D. Gorliam), on behalf of Mr;. Algai' William;, who was unavoidably absent, reported that private hospitality i>ad been offered to the choir to the extent of accommodating ]Kt members during thsir stay in Wellington. The remainder wotvM bo provided for in hotels. Various detniN were discussed in connection with the arrival of the choir on Thursday evening next, and a number of ladies and gemllomen were selected to act as stewards at the station, and assist in (he dispatch of the members of the choir to their vi cious quarters. This being the inst meeting of the committee before the opening of the performances a of thanks was accorded to Mrs. A._'rr Williams for her arduous work in "connection with the housing of the choir. The services of the local secretary were also similarlv recognised.
