To-day the Acting-Prime minister (Sir James Carroll) will bo in Temuka, the Hon. G. Fowlds in Auckland, the Hon. J. A. Millar, the Hon. D. Buddo, the Hon. A. T. Ngata, and the Hon. R. M'Kenzio in Wellington, and the Hon. T. Mackenzie in Christeliurch.

The Hon. J. A. Millar, who has been confined to his house with a troublesome knee, hopes to be about again shortly. At present, however, the knee is in plaster of paris.

, Mr. A. C. Lean, whose death took place at Hastings on Saturday, was well known in Canterbury, where, in the seventies and eighties, he was a successful rower, and a prominent member of the Canterbury Rowing Club.—Press Association.

Acting on medical advice, Mr. T. Parata, M.P. for the Southern Maori district,- will not seek re-election this year. Ho will have been member for tho district for.2fi years. Mr. C. K. Parata, of Wellington, son of Mr. T. Parata, will contest the seat!'

Dr. Miller, who recently came out from Home, and was practising at Waverley, died on Saturday at the age of 58 years, states a Press Association telegram.

Mr. D. M'Laren, M.P., has accepted nomination by tho Northland School Committee for a seat on the AVcllington Education Board. The election of board members takes place on July 3.

Mr. A. mays, of the advertising staff of The Dominion, left for Sydney on Friday, having severed his connection with the paper. Mr. mays has been appointed secretary to Bishop Stretch, of Newcastle, with whom ho was associated for six months in England at tho time of the Pan-Anglican Conference.

Mr. A. M. Ewing, Mayor of St. Kilda, Dunedin, arrived from Duncdin yesterday, and is staying at the Grand Hotel.

Among the guests at the Grand Hotel are Mr. J. H. Walker, .chairman Otago Hospital Board, Mr. John Jacobs, secretary Otago Hospital Board; Dr. Faulkner, medical superintendent Otago Hospital Board and Mr. Wilkinson, member of tho Hospital Board.

Mr. W. F. Nicholls, of Sydney, has been appointed secretary to the Mutual Life and Citizens' Assurance Co., Ltd., in West Australia, in succession to Mr J. Frankis Lane, recently deceased.

Jlr. P. G. Easson,'of South Kilbirnie has returned from a visit to America.
