The Council of tho, Festival of Empire banqueted tho overseas athletes at the Crystal Palace. Lord Desboroiigh (chief of the executive) presided. He emphasised tho. value of sports contests in furthering goodwill and friendship between tho nations of the Empire.
Mr. Coombes, of Sydney, manager of the team, responded to the toast of "The Visitors."
