TELEPHONE EXCHANGE HOURS.

: . A REGULATION ALTERED. No. 22 of the regulations made in 1908 controlling the hours of telephone exchanges in the Dominion has been revoked by Gazelle notice, and the following regulations have been substituted:~ "The following hours of attendance shall be observed at telephone exchanges, according to the number of paying sub. scribers connected therewith:— Hours. Subscribers. a.m. p.m. 1 to 50 .(inclusive) 3 to 5 51 to 100 (inclusive) 8 to 8 101 to 125 (inclusive) 8 to 10 12G to 150 (inclusive) ..: Bto midnight 151 and over: Open continuously if at any time not less than twothirds of the total number of subscribers express in writing,

Subscribers holding business connections with an exchange open continuously shall bo charged therefor at the rate of jC7 per annum, and private subscribers at tlio rnto of £b per anr.uw; or, if twothirds of the total number of subscribers at any time express in writing, addressed o the secretary, their d»mTin that beImJf. each subscriber shall be charged at the rato of £C> per annum. Such expression as aforesaid shall bo deemed to be opera live until reversed by an expression of the desire of at least two-thirds of the subscribers that the annual rates be £7 and £5 respectively."
