1 The interment of Mr. George Clunics Ross, the late "King" of the Cocos Islands, at Boiiclinreh, Isle of Wight, last year led to, a discussion at the annual vestry meeting as to burials of strangers in the churchyard, Tho rector said that Mr. Clonics Ross became a resident of the parish for three months. He explained (hat he referred to the period when Mr, lioss's body lay in a local undertaker's premises. The rector said he felt that' ho could not refuse burial. H was an act of charity to a stranger 10,000 miles from home. The poor man had to bo buried somewhere.
