MORAL SIDE OF ATHLETICS.
r * • Mr. Paul, of hammer-throwing fame, addressed the lads of the Y.11.C.A. boys department on "The floral Side of Athletics." ■ He spoke of sport in general, and of the various kinds of . players in different games. In a simple yet forciblemanner Mr. Paul- brought out. the Rood points in. athletics, and showed how very closely a lad's character was connected with his sport. .An appeal was made by the speaker, to play, hard,, but to remember that in eacli game played they were moulding their futures. If they kept this in mind he felt sure the boys before him would .grow to be men of whom any country might be . proud; The spyaker at the . nest meeting, will be Chief Petty Officer Harris, of H.M.S. Cambrian. ■' .'• . On Saturday evening last the. rooms were well filled, and it is quite- expected to see a big crowd of, the soccer" boys this coming Saturday, when Mr. rfuncicton is to give a talk. A silver medal has been donated as a trophy for shooting. _ The competition will commence on Friday. ■
