THE SIMPLEX.
A MILKING MACHINE OF PROVED EFFICIENCY: - ; One of the most interesting and instructive exhibits at the Palmerston North Winter Shew is. that of tho Simplex Milking Machine. To a large extent the attention which this machine is attracting is duo to the reputation which it has gained for effective work and reliability. The "Simplex" has long since passed the experimental stage', having been on the market far many years. As the name implies, it is very simple in construction and working, there being no intricate or. delicate mechanism to get out of order. The. working of this machine can ,be entrusted .with tho utmost safety to any child. As further evidence of its reliability "and.'speed, it might bo mentioned that during the past .season'a farmer and his two sons'(both the. latter attending school regula-lv) have milked one 'hundred iiiid.,twonty. cows night and morning. Thcv. have had no other assistance, and tne machines, have''required no expert attention, U is no, wonder that an exhibit of machines capable of doing such wftrk -as' this is attracting the attention and calling forth the admiration of dairy farmers. fr(\m all tarts "of the Dominion. Sine* 'last .season the:-plant has been improved in m:.iiv respects, the most important improvement being the addition of art automatic releaser, which is claimed to be tho greatest labour saver yet invented. By moans of an exceedingly simplo device the milk is conveyed direct from the cows to the cans. This releaser deserves the title of "Simplex"— it is simplicity itself. The only surprising feature is that tho idea was not thought of during the infancy of milking machines. But this has teen the history of many wonderful inventions—the simplest and most effective devices have token the .longest to discover. With the "Simplex" the dairy farmer now has the option of installing either the Releaser or the Bucket Plant, either of which will be found to give complete satisfaction. Mr. N. Andrew, Wanganui, is tho sole agent, and he invites inquiries from dairy farmers in any part of tho Dominion.
