A meeting of the Management' Committeo of the Wellington ltugby Union was held last night. There were present:— Messrs. S. Brown (chairman), W. Perry, E. 0. Hales, W. Hardham, J. Bums, is. Little, J. Sweeney, and W. F. Hornig. A sub-committee was appointed to confer with the Exhibition Sports Committee in regard to arranging events for Rugby night at the Exhibition. A letter from the Town Clerk stated that the provision of a dressing-shed at' Anderson Park was being considered in connection with the estimates for the current year. Tho secretary of the Selwyn Football Club wrote recommending the removal of the remainder of the suspension imposed on S. Shearer for pushing a player in tho face with his open hand. Tho letter stated that the club considered the sentence (12 weeks' suspension) was too severe for tho ease.—lt was resolved to reply that tho union was unable to soe its way to remit the remaining portion of the sentence. , A protest was received from the Wellington Football Club against a second round being played in the junior competition.on the ground that the custom for tho past ten years had been to play one round only. The letter from tho club pointed out that last season a proposal to play a second round was strongly protested against by a member of the committee who happened to be a delegate of tho club leading in the competition.— On the motion of Mr. Hales it was decided to continue the junior matches un- j til the senior competition was decided.
