4 NO NOTICE TAKEN. The chairman of the Victoria College Council (Mr. C. Wilson) mentioned at the meeting of that body last evening that the Auditor-General had attached to the accounts a "tag," stating that tho council had no authority in law to deposit ,£1322 10s. with a building society. Mr. 11. ]?. Von llaast: Tho Chief Justice, at this table, gavo us an obiter dicta tlmt we had such power. Tho chairman: No notico seems to he taken of theso tags by any other body. Mr. J. Graham, 51.P., 6aid tho "tags" used to be a regular thing, but he had heard it said that under the now AuditorGeneral they would not bo a farce any longer. Tho chairman: Well, what shall we do about it? Mr. Graham: I think we should do nothing. Jlr. J. G. W. Aitken: I more that the accounts be received. This was agreed to. I
