Tho weakly mooting ,ot' tho'Wellington Rugby Referees' Association was held in tho i.M.C.A. Rooms last evening, Mr. D. M'Kenzio presiding. A letter was received from (ho sccrt* tary of tho New Zealand Referees' Association asking for n list of referees eligible nnd available for representative matches this year. The letter further stated that the New Zealand Union had decided that in the event of two captains failing to agree upon the number of spells to bo played two spells should be the rule. Tho executive of the New Zealand Association had also Tuied that if, in tho opinion ot' a referee, a man kicking at goal wilfully led tho opposing team to think that tho ball had touched the ground, and they charged, that chargo should not bo dieall owed.

Mr. \V. J. Spencer, who is shortly leav< ing i'or Gisbornoi tendered his resignation as a member of the Appointment Hoard, and Ml'. Card was appointed to iill tho vacancy.
