"The club ivas represented at the fourth' annual fixture for tho Dutliio Cup at Waliganui by Messrs. llush, D. M'Lean, Hamilton, Moult, Price, Wylie, Veiteli, and F. Lauveuson, who were successful in winning the cup. which will bo hold by the club till played for next season. "During the season four rinks visited Christchurch Club, eleven rinks played in the Centre Tournament, two in tho N.B.A. Tournament at Auckland, and ono in tho N.Z.B.A. at Christchurch. Visits were also paid to Nelson and Otaki Clubs

"A feature of tho season has been tho successful and pleasant inter-club fixtures. A series of 12 matches was arranged by tho committee, all of which havo been played. "Club prize-winners are as follow Rink match, 1 president and vice-president's trophies—Messrs. E. Norton, W. Miller, It. Gilmer and W. C. Crane (skip); champion singles, Mr. 11. W. Frost; club pairs, Mr. W. Glendining and Dr. Boyd (skip); Sargood cup, Mr. G. B. Hall (tho latter trophy having been won by Mr. Dall two years'in succession, now becoincs his property).; junior singles were not played owing to the small number of junior players on .tho books. "As intimated in last year's report, a quantity of grass seed was imported fron Scotland. Some of tho seed has been sold and the balance used in relaying tho middle green. Every credit is due to tho caretaker, for the careful manner in which he has carried out tho work, and directors havo confidence that the green will be in first-class order for thf ••oming feasoi). Tho lower green, and also tho upper gre.'.i have leceived considerable attention. The latter, owing to tho building of tho retaining wall, has now a length of 109 feet. "Early in the year the Green Committee sought, the advice of Professor Kirk nnd Dr. Cockayne, of the Biological Department. These gentlemen very kindly visited the greens on two occasions, nnd confirmed the action of tho custodian in his care and upkeep. They recommended the closing of tho two larger greens alternately at tho end of March in cach year. The best thanlcs of the club are due to Messrs.. Kirk and Cockayne. "During the past year death removed tin club's late auditor, Mr. H. M. Lyon, who was associated with the club' for many years; and also Mr. A. A. K. Duncan and Mr. G. I'. Wilson. The directors appointed Mr. IT. F. Allen auditor for the remainder of tho year, and it will be tho duty of members tx) clcct an auditor for tlio coming year. "Mr. Wm. Berry, who satisfactorily carried out tho duties of lion, treasurer for tho past four years, resigned the position in March last on hir leaving for an extended holiday trip to Europe, and tho directors appointed Mr. B. H. Price trea--surer for tho remainder of the year." KARORI CLUB. Tho eighth annual report of the Karorl Club gives the membership as CO, but tliej could eh wit'i another 20. The green is looking in tlio best of trim for this, time of tho year, and tho commlHco' hopes that it will l>o better than last RoiMji. Tho club's financo is'SIS better than last year. Regret is expressed that ono of tho founders of 'ho club passed awav during tho season in- Mr. VP. J. Williams.. The Campbell stars were won by Messrs. Crawford and Bradnock; senior bowls by Mr. Tom Hope, and juuio» bowls by Mr. J. Nevill. NEWTOWN CLUB. In tho a'nnual report of the Newtowtt Bowling Club the directors state that it is most satisfactory to noto that the club continues in a prosperous condition both in regard to its finance and membership, A very gratifying feature, of tho balancesheet is tho substantial balance in hand, viz., JCG3 3s. Id. j this is the largest in tho history of the club. Tho various interclub trophy games were keenly contested, and, generally speaking, good bowling-form was shown by the club's teams. Tho "Edwin Feathers," "Diamond Buckles," "Hill Pins," and "Junior Stars" were frequent, ly in the club's possession, but at the end of the season they held only the "Dia. mond Buckles." In (he senior pennant competition the club tied with the winners, but lost in the final play-off. Tho juniors won the "Junior Pennant." Tlio winners of tho various club competitions are as follow;— Champion Singles, Mr. G. E. Prince; Club Pairs, Messrs. J. Brack, enridge and S. Phillips; Underwood Memorial Cup, Mr. J. Braekenridge. Colts' trophy (presented by a member) and a trophy presented by Mr. Speed were both won by Mr. A. E. Spiers; veteran's trophy, presented by Mr. J. Gallic, was won by Mr. 'I'. S. Powell; Easter Pairs Competition by Messrs. S. Phillips and G. Ilaigh. Regret is expressed at the death' of three members, Messrs. T. M'llwraith, T. Amos, and W. A. Pearnian, who were much esteemed by all the members for their genial and kindly disposition. Tho thanks of the club are due to the following gentlemen for presentations of handsome garden seals, viz.; Messrs. J. P. Luke, if.P., K. A. Wright, M.P., J. Martin,' and T. Bland; also to Messrs. H. H. Underwood, J. Gallic, J. B. Speed, and a member, for trophies.
