Dr. Mavrson is going to Paris to discuss with the X'rinco of Monaco the matler of tho deep-sea dredging gear (which will he a present from tlio l'rinco). Tlio l'rinco lias already arranged for ono of the scientific staff of Dr. Mawson's expedition to undergo training at Uio Oceanogi'nphical Laboratory at Monaco. Dr. Mawson stales that tlio ship Aurora, which will carry the expedition into Antarctic waters, will he dry-doclted. Sho is a roomy ship, a little smaller than tlio Terra Nova. AID TOR CAPTAIN AMUNDSEN. Christiania, June 18. M. CliristoiTorsen, a Norwegian resident at Buenos Ayres, will defray Uio cost of the provisions and outfit of the Antarctic exploring vessel Fram until Captain Amundsen's return from New Zealand and San Francisco.
SIR E. SIIACKLETON DECORATED. Berlin, Juno 18. The Kaiser has conferred tlio secondclass Order of Hie Crown on Sir Ernest Shackleton, the Antarctic explorer.
